LA CONTEMPORAINE RESIDENCE

Construction of a residence for people with disabilities

Description

Construction of a residence for people with disabilities (Grade B2) located in Quebec City and made with a steel and concrete structure.

The building has five storeys, including underground parking. The work was carried out in “fast-track” mode: the structure was erected while the architectural plans were being produced. Other project challenges included the construction of the Berlin wall, which was required due to the limited space available, and the very tight eight-and-a-half-month schedule for a floor area of almost 100,000 square feet, including 100 rooms, kitchen, care and laundry services, and so on.
