MONT-CHAMPAGNAT RESIDENCE

Major renovation and expansion of a residence

Description

Construction and renovation of a residence for autonomous and non-autonomous seniors, including 158 units.

The work was carried out in phases, with the aim of minimizing disruption to residents and their peace and quiet. Maximum preservation of the existing architectural and heritage features of this former monastery remained at the heart of the project. With the existing building containing asbestos, this redevelopment phase had to be carried out in complete safety, while respecting and maintaining the services offered to residents and accessibility to communal living areas (kitchen, dining rooms and other amenities). The existing oil-fired heating system has been converted to a gas-fired system. An indoor swimming pool and several multi-purpose rooms have been added to the existing building, with the aim of improving residents’ quality of life. The installation of a kitchen service was also part of the work to be carried out. Finally, an automatic sprinkler system was installed in the existing building. Project services
